Bar Termini Centrale to open in Marylebone
Tony Conigliaro has announced the opening of a second outpost of Bar Termini on Monday 15th May. Tony and business partner Marco Arrigo will open the aptly named Bar Termini Centrale on Duke Street, Marylebone. Similar to its Soho sister, Bar Termini Centrale will serve coffee and cocktails, day and night, as well as an extended food menu of Italian-inspired snacks and small plates.
Bar Termini Centrale takes inspiration from the old school-style cafes found in train stations across Italy. Each bar is designed to create the perfect pit stop for a weary traveller to have a quick coffee or cocktail pick me up before continuing with their journey. Termini Centrale builds on its predecessor, with a larger, all-day site offering reservations and walk-ins for the 40 covers inside. An outdoor terrace seats up to 20, providing an enviable alfresco escape just moments away from Oxford Street. In addition, the new bar will also have a takeaway ‘breakfast hatch’, open from 8am each morning, giving passers-by the chance to grab their coffee of choice and pastry to go.
As with Bar Termini Soho, coffees and cocktails will be available from morning through to night, with Termini classics such as the ‘Spritz Termini’, ‘Terroir’ on the menu alongside the full range of Tony’s famous bottle-aged Negronis (with the Classico Negroni bottle available for purchase). A selection of brand new creations will be introduced to the Centrale menu including an ‘Olive Bellini’ and a bottle-aged ‘Bergamot Negroni’, as well as non-alcoholic options such as the ‘Al Penguino’.
In addition to the expanded drinks menu, guests can expect a greater emphasis on food with dining menus available from breakfast through to dinner. On the menu will be ‘Panzerotti’ – a savoury Italian turnover similar to a small calzone, which is fried rather than baked. Termini Centrale will offer several variations including the ‘A la noma’ with tomato, aubergine and ricotta cheese and the and ‘Salsiccia e friarelli’ with Italian sausage and friarelli. The wider food menu offers delicious Italian-inspired salads such as ‘Smoked octopus carpaccio, potatoes salad & red tropea onion sauce’ and ‘Baccalà salad with sea aioli sauce & Italian lollo salad’. For those wanting something a little lighter, a selection of aperitivi will be available as well as brunch on the weekends.
Bar Termini Centrale opens officially on Monday 15th May at 31 Duke Street, Marylebone London W1U 1LG
