Gymkhana announces exclusive late-night Diwali celebrations
Michelin-starred Indian restaurant Gymkhana in Mayfair will be celebrating Diwali, the Hindu festival of light, from Thursday 19th to Saturday 21st October with feasting menus and late-night festivities to include card games, world-class cocktails and an exclusive bar menu.
Diners are invited to celebrate the festival in traditional fashion over plenty of food, cocktails and games to mark the occasion. Exclusively for the Diwali weekend, Gymkhana will be providing packs of cards, chips, and rules if necessary, for guests to play with at their tables, with a particular focus on the card game Flush, which is typically played late into the evening over the holiday alongside whisky and food.
An exclusive £90 feast menu will be available across the festival for a minimum of 6 people, with dishes to include ‘Goat Raan, Masala Tandoori Potatoes, Onion and Chilli Kulchas’. A special late-night bar menu, serving drinks until 2am, will feature large-serve punch bowls, an old-fashioned drinks trolley and a selection of Johnnie Walker whisky cocktails crafted by some of the world’s best bars including New York’s PDT and Little Red Door in Paris.
At sister restaurant Trishna in Marylebone, the Diwali celebrations will continue with a special ‘Taste of Trishna Diwali Menu’ available in either five or seven courses, priced at £60 and £70 respectively. The exclusive menu will feature Trishna signatures including the ‘Hariyali Bream’ and ‘Tandoori Lamb Chops’ sat alongside specials of ‘Wild Goose Seekh Kebab’ and ‘Chakundari Guinea Fowl’. At both restaurants, guests will each be gifted a box of Indian sweets to take with them after the meal, as is traditional during the festival of lights.
