Restaurants’ innovative response to Coronavirus
As the UK prepares to face an incredibly tough few months, a number of restaurants, hotels, and hospitality businesses have been working around the clock to find imaginative ways to keep their businesses afloat, and to support their local communities. They may have had to close their doors for the foreseeable future in order to put the safety of customers, staff, suppliers and the general population first, but whether it’s delivery and take-away, vouchers, fundraising, charitable donations, or providing for NHS and key workers, below are just some of the ways our Gerber clients are doing their bit.
This list is correct at the time of sending, but we will be updating this page regularly as and when the situation changes. Please also follow our instagram for updates.

Nutritious take-home meals are being cooked up by Simon Rogan and team for the local community, namely the elderly and the most vulnerable residents of Cartmel and the surrounding area. Taking advantage of the fresh ingredients currently in surplus at Simon’s own Lake District farm, located a mile from the village, chefs from L’Enclume, and Rogan & Co are busy producing a stock of freezer-ready, comforting dishes to boost morale and combat the food shortage in supermarkets and local stores.
Simon and the team are working with the local vicar at Cartmel Priory to identify individuals who are the most isolated or at risk, and will be delivering dishes free of charge.
Other residents will pay as little as £5 a dish, the cost of which will cover ingredients and allow for the donation of further meals to vulnerable locals in need. Meals can be collected or delivered.
